Joan's Southwest Coleslaw

Okay so here's a confession, I don't actually like this dish. I dislike coleslaw in general. I dislike cabbage in general. BUT I have seen other people go nuts over this dish. So when I needed to take a salad to a party, but was on a diet so didn't want to take anything I would be tempted to eat, I picked this one.

My mom got this recipe from her cousin Joan at a family reunion. It was one of those things where people were lining up for the recipe. (After they cleaned the bowl clean- and this recipe makes a lot.)

Joan's Southwest Coleslaw

2 bags coleslaw mix
1/2 red cabbage sliced thin
1 red onion
1 bunch cilantro
3 small avocados
1 jalapeno without seeds
1 tomato

Chop all ingredients finely and mix together.

Dressing

1 cup ranch
1 1/2 juiced limes
3 TBS cumin (yes, I said 3 Tablespoons)

mix together then add to coleslaw mix.

Thank you. I am so glad to see another recipe. I was getting sick of baked potato soup. And yes I do like this recipe and have it written on the back of an envelope somewhere. So now I don't have to look for it. I know I'll always be able to find it in your blog.
